  1. Q/ Do you take care of Slab & Erect?
    A/ Oz-Steel is a kit only supplier. You will need to use a local erector in your local area


  2. Q/ Are the kits easy to Erect?
    A/ Yes! With the columns, rafters, haunch & apex brackets all pre-punched & ready to bolt together,  a comprehensive erection booklet a bill of materials from the computer and some hand drawn pages exclusively for your building showing wall girts,roof purlins,door header heights & where to start sheeting on the gable ends and a slab layout plan showing location and direction of columns on the slab along .


  3. Q/ Is there a range of colour available?
    A/ Yes, There are 20 carefully researched popular modern colours available in the Blue Scope Steel Range, that mix and match very well. The colours can be seen on this web site.


  4. Q/ Do the kits come with engineering for council?
    A/ Yes 3 sets of 5 page engineering drawings on A3 sheets are fowarded to you once we are in receipt of a signed tax invoice and a deposit.


  5. Q/ Does the engineering include engineering for the slab and footings?
    A/ Yes. For soil types A. S. & M. But no soil testing is required for a garage slab by most councils.


  6. Q/ Can my building be erected onto footings without a slab?
    A/ Yes. A great deal of farm sheds are footings only with an auger bored or block footing.

  7. Q/ How are these building anchored to the slab or footings?
    A/ Each building is designed to be anchored with dyna bolts or (wet bolts) bolts set into the concrete.


  8. Q/ What if I have problems with erecting the shed?
    A/ Oz-Steel will provide you with telephone support should you run into any difficulties.


  9. Q/ I have some roller doors & windows of my own can you build the garage to accommodate them for me?
    A/ As long as we are given accurate heights and widths we can organise the kit to use your doors and windows.


  10. Q/ I have a four wheel drive vehicle. What height garage will I need for entry under the roller doors?
    A/At Oz-Steel we prefer to talk clearance heights required as most garages the height is determined at the eave where the roof sheet meets the wall sheet, but your clearance height under you roller door will be considerably less due to the depth of the drum of the door. Below is a guide to garage heights & clearance heights under roller doors.

  11. Q/ Is it easy to extend the length of my building at a later date?
    A/ Yes. Unlike many other manufactures that utilize a smaller end portal frame due to the mullion supports. Oz-Steel uses the same size portal frame right through making it very simple to ad more portal bays & extend.


  12. Q/ Can I add a side awning at anytime later?
     A/ Yes this is as simple as cutting a neat slot in the wall sheets at each portal frame & inserting a flat plate bracket to pick up the column inside & bolt the rafter to it outside the wall to extend out whatever width awning you choose.


  13. Q/ I have a steeper roof pitch on my house and the garage will be seen in the same plane. Can I get a steeper roof pitch on my garage?
    A/ Sure you can. Apart from our standard 11 degree roof we now also offer.

    45 degree
    As well as the "Mansard" or dutch gable barn roof.


  14. Q/ How much deposit is needed to place my order?
    A/ We ask a 20% deposit of the price of your kit.


  15. Q/ What is the time frame from ordering my kit to it being delivered?
    A/ There will be about 3 weeks from order to delivery time.


  16. Q/ Will my building be covered by a warranty?
    A/ Yes the 15 year warranty applies for using only Bluescope Steel.
